Dr. Helen Hu, a very fine Doctor of Chinese Medicine. She grew up, studied and practiced in China since the age of 12. Her family applied natural Chinese health principles as an integral part of their lives.
Helen studied both traditional Chinese and Western medicine in China, and was a practicing Cardiologist. She has been in this country for 15 years. During this period she worked hard to survive and adapt, learned English, completed Western medical school, passed US medical board examinations, completed Acupuncture school in San Diego, obtained licenses to practice Acupuncture, and in 1993 opened a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice in Point Loma. Dr. Hu completed her Doctoral Degree in Chinese Medicine, Graduating in June 2007.


Helen is a doctor, in the old Chinese tradition, providing medical care to people of all ages. She addresses a wide range of conditions and desires. Her approach is preventive when possible, holistic, and oriented towards optimal health and longevity. She understands Western medicine practices, medical protocols and she is willing to positively collaborate with and complement medical treatments and practices being provided by Western Medical Doctors. Dr Helen Hu is an expert in Nutrition and Herbology, as well as Acupuncture. These are integral parts of her treatments.
